The task is to propose a new design for the new headquarter for ULOBA, a cooperative owned and run by disabled people according to the philosophy of Independent Living.
The project will be a precedent for universal design. As a FutureBuilt project, it also has high goals for low carbon emissions, and aims to be an arena for innovation, competence building and exchange of experiences. It will be a learning platform for clients, architects, advisers, entrepreneurs, municipal administrations as well as users.
The five prequalified candidates to compete for the design are:
- BIG/Bjarke Ingels Group AS (DK)
- Henning Larsen Architects AS (DK)
- A-lab (NO), Force 4 Architects (DK) , Building Design Partnership (UK) , StokkeAustad (NO) og Møller & Grønborg (DK)
- HLM arkitektur AS (NO)
- Line Solgaard Arkitekter AS (wild card)
Team members in a-lab’s group are professor in universal design Camilla Ryhl (DK), Force4 Architects (DK), Møller & Grønborg landscape architects (DK), BDP (UK) og StokkeAustad (NO).
