A unanimous jury elected the Statoil building. “The building emphasizes the user Statoil ASA’s identity and social role in a unique way”, the jury states in its recommendation. The Jury also finds that the user asserts itself worldwide when it comes to technology, size and financial success.
-I am not surprised about the awarding of this prize! In Sintef’s research project ValPro (Value Driven Procurement in building and Real Estate – OpenBIM) this project stands out as a role model of a clear client with thoroughly prepared goals for the building and who has placed special emphasis on collaborative processes and above all secured commendable communication with the architect in order to achieve their objectives, CEO Egil Skavang of the Association of Consulting Architects in Norway pronounced during the awards ceremony.

Motivated, brave and determined
Architect and partner of a-lab Odd Klev expresses to Arkitektnytt that IT Fornebu deserves Byggherreprisen (Building Owners Prize) because of their unwavering faith in an unconventional and innovative design, despite the turbulent market after the financial crises of 2008. In addition they have played a vital role in the large transformation of the Fornebu area from vacant airfield to a thriving business environment through several large scale projects.
a-lab is proud to take part in this work – congratulations to our client and collaborating partners!
