A-Lab finds new managing director among their own
Line Janicke Musæus is hired as the new managing director for A-Lab. She will be entering the role from the 1st June.
We have conducted a thorough recruitment process, and vetted several external candidates, whom all were very qualified. Nevertheless, it was with no doubt that Musæus, who knows A-Lab very well from working here for ten years as an architect, project leader and department leader, was our first choice. She understands A-Lab’s unique brand in the field, she is a cultural bearer for us in the office, and is highly qualified to further develop the company’s position within architecture, urbanism and development, says Kristin Olssen Augestad, the chairman of the board in A-Lab and executive director of the architecture branch of the Multiconsult Group, which is the majority owner in A-Lab.
Musæus is a graduate from the architecture school in Oslo and has been a practicing architect at A-Lab since 2015. She comes from the position of leader of Live-Lab, the team that specializes in residential architecture and matters. In the past few years, she has been a key figure in the company’s executive team.
A-Lab’s greatest strength and potential ahead now is to extract the potential of interdisciplinary collaborations, both internally and within the Multiconsult Group. Innovation requires more than just being professionally skilled, it requires a setup where energy is freed up for innovative thinking and delivering quality, says Line, who is looking forward to the upcoming tasks.
We have so many talented people. And in addition, they are really nice people, so this is something that I am really looking forward to. Together we will create greener, vital cities with beautiful and sustainable architecture, she says.
Musæus takes over the role from Geir Haaversen, one of the co-founders of A-Lab, who has been managing director for many years. Haaversen will focus more on the marked, projects and innovation, what he knows and enjoys the most.
Geir has been the generator behind A-Lab’s development into a leading, interdisciplinary and innovative architecture practice with a strong profile in sustainability. He will continue to be central and an important resource in the company. I want to thank him for the great job that he was done so far and wish him the best in his new role, says Augestad who has been the interim managing director during the search.
