Trehusrekka has received planning permission!

It’s on! We have received planning permission for the first building in the project called Trehusrekka located in Lilleakerbyen, Oslo. The building is planned as a combined music- and viewing center for the development at Lilleakerbyen; complete with rehearsal rooms, music studios and a great space for live concerts for visitors and the community at Lilleaker.

We are preserving the existing concrete structure and placing a wooden “jewelry box” on top which creates an atmospheric addition to the coffee shop in the old building next door. The first floor gets folding doors opening the building towards the surroundings, activating both the street and the connecting square. The building will have a low carbon footprint as we reuse the concrete structure, reuse materials where possible, and use wood as the main material for the new construction. The project has high ambitions when it comes to sustainability as the pilot project of the masterplan for Lilleakerbyen.

Due to construction work for Fornebubanen most of the Trehusrekka-project has been temporarily put on hold, however the transformation of this building will begin shortly, playing a vital role in showcasing the creativity and urban development taking place at Lilleaker.
